OROW National & International Karting Series Tour

WBTV coverage from May 13 series launch

The OROW National & International Karting Series Tour is a multifaceted diversity karting series to launch at The Pit Indoor Kart Racing in Mooresville, NC on May 13, 2009 and May 21, 2009. Each series event will have up to 30 participants of diverse backgrounds who have not had previous exposure to motorsports from ages 8 to 15. During each event, the participants will take part in karting training & competitions, educational seminars from Joe Gibbs Racing developmental drivers and Penske Racing technology experts as well as OROW’s Touch Program.

We are excited to participate in this national program to expand participation in kart racing worldwide and to attract more minority youth, ages eight to 15,” said Matthew Thompson, co-owner of The Pit. “We are in discussions with kart racing sites in Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Phoenix and elsewhere to extend the program after it launches here. Eventually we hope to link up with kart racing facilities in Europe as well.”
